Basically, numerologists believe that there’s a mystical connection between numbers and events, and that you can study the numbers attached to a given person, place or idea — like, yes… an address! — in order to learn something about it. Numerology is an age-old practice dating back to ancient Greek mathematician and philosopher Pythagoras, but it’s still something a lot of people believe in and practice today. And if you’re looking for a fun and fresh way to think about your home, this just might be it.

It starts with discovering your home’s number — a single digit between 1 and 9 — and then discovering what that number has to uncover about your home’s unique energy and character.
In numerology, you need to distill your address into a single digit, which you can do by adding numbers together. For example, if you live at 724 Main Street, you’ll take your address number (“724”) and add the digits together:
7 + 2 + 4 = 13
Then, if you get a double-digit number as a result, add again:
1 + 3 = 4
Your house number is 4!
If you live on a street named for a number…
Ignore it. For example, if your address is 130 5th Avenue, ignore the street (“5th Avenue”) and add up just the address number (the “130,” which becomes “4”).
If you live in an apartment…
Use your unit number — it’s the most unique number for your space. For example, if you live at 1200 Willow Court, Apt. 33, only add up the unit number (“33,” which adds down to “6”).
If you have letters in your address or unit number …
Add it up! If your street number or apartment number contains a letter — like “960-A,” or “4C”—you’ll want to add the letter along with the numbers, using the numeric equivalent of that letter (which is done by assigning it a number according to it’s place in the alphabet). Here’s a cheat sheet:
1 – A, J, S
2 – B, K, T
3 – C, L, U
4 – D, M, V
5 – E, N, W
6 – F, O, X
7 – G, P, Y
8 – H, Q, Z
9 – I, R
So apartment 4C gives us the numbers “4” and “3” (for C), for a numerology number of “7.”
The house number that is closest to you (most influential) is the actual house, apartment or unit number. The next important number is your address with the house number combined with the street and the directionals (spelled out) but without the city, state, zip or country. Think of it as you would speak it to someone - rather than as you would write it out - without shortening the directional or street type (Road, Street, Avenue, Boulevard etc..). This is the true 'vibration' of your address.
When you get a number that is multiple digits, add those digits together to get a single digit. For example; 23 = 2 + 3 - so it would be a number 5 address. 123 would be added: 1 + 2 + 3 = 6. But make sure to read the number influences for each number unreduced as well.

So, to get a true understanding of the influences of your home and the types of activities that are best supported there;
1) Look at the house number (or apartment number) - i.e. a house number of 123 is a #6 house and it is a #6 house that also has the influence of 1, 2 and 3 - so read about those too, but give the most weight to the number 6 total.
2) Look at your address with your street included. This gives you some added information about your home in relationship to your neighborhood. Look at the street name alone (As for example "North Main Street") to understand more about the vibration of the street you live on. If you live in an apartment complex, look at the address of the complex without your apartment number to understand the energy of this complex as a whole. All of these numbers influence your home environment, but none as much as your individual 'dwelling number'.
3) You can understand more about your city, state or country this way too! Experiment and see what you see!
Choose a house that’s compatible with your lifepath and desires.
Generally speaking, odd number lifepaths (1, 3, 5, 7, 9) do better in odd numbered houses.
Even number lifepaths (2, 4, 6, 8, 11, 22, 33, 44) do better in even numbered houses.
Numbers you should avoid -
4 dwelling brings order, routine, schedules, practical work, earthly comforts, stability, loyalty, predictability and sound structure. Building a family, business or relationship works well here as there is a groundedness that induces patience and tolerance. Earth-centered creativity such as gardening or architecture/building are likely to be very successful here and the house itself will be well built and durable. Times here are remembered for the steady progress that was made and the lasting relationships that were tempered. Good for accountants, builders, students, architects, practical people, gardeners, crafts-people, chefs, bank managers. Supports step by step progress and goal oriented people.
In numerology, the number four has a very serious, grounded vibration — so it follows that the number four home supports discipline, structure and responsibility. It’s a great place to expand a business, grow your family or take control of your finances, as discipline, structure, and responsibility are supported here: This is a wonderful place if you prefer stability to change, or at least want your home to be conventional, even if the rest of your life is adventurous! But it doesn’t have to be all work and no play — the four home is very earthy and benefits from a nice garden and does well with live plants in the interior of the home as well.
If the single number of the total of house number comes to 3, 4 or 8, People with number 4 should not rent/buy that house.
The lucky house numbers for people with Psychic number and Destiny number 4 are 1, 2, 5, 6, 7, 9.
This sort of house is ideal for people that are focused, full of ambition, and driven toward goals, and a goal-oriented lifestyle.
If you are focused on attaining a level of physical strength or ability, for example, or you strive to be the top seller at your office, this could be a good fit for you.
Or maybe you aim to raise three children and send all of them to college.
A home that has vibrations geared to helping you reach said goals is the place for you.
House number 4 is a good number for adults who have a career or personal goals.
If you have goals, you would like to reach, big or small, and your day centers upon meeting said goals, this is the place for you to settle and make your life.
Perhaps you are a full-time mom and worker, but you would like to run a marathon by next year.
Perhaps you have a child who has displayed exceptional talent in a musical instrument, area of study, or art form, and you would like to nurture and cultivate their skill, helping them excel at their craft.
The number 4 is represented by the Sun, which is symbolic in many ways.
The Sun sustains all life as we know it on Earth.
It is the basis of our routines each day: some head to work when the sun rises, others when the sunsets.
The sun provides dwellers in the house of 4 the chance to follow a routine and live with a sense of discipline and create a structure that works for them.
If you are very emotionally connected to others and things, such as those of Life Path 2 or those living in houses of numerology path 2, as it is far too disciplined and “strict” a place for them to be themselves.
Strictness is not bad for those who are goal-driven; the “straight and narrow” is how most goals are attained.
The home would lack the variety, flexibility, and adventure these individuals seek, so it could lead them to feel depressed and a bit bored or frustrated.
Try your best to eliminate screen time, as these are killers to the achievement of goals.
We must have computers, tablets, and other devices for ease of work and tools to track our goals, but only use them when needed.
Create a place for you and your family to recharge your batteries in a figurative sense- cultivate a garden, create a room where no screens are allowed and use earth-tone colors such as clay red, brown, and white.
Create settings that match your favorite earth environments, such as reds and browns for the desert, for instance.
You would also do well to have a bright and welcoming door for those you do have over for a visit.
I wouldn’t say house number 4 is bad luck, but it’s better suited to certain types of life path numbers.
It is easy for those in a house of 4 to become wrapped up in achieving their goals, so much so that they have a laser focus on making them happen.
Other things can fall by the wayside, such as home repair or even taking the time to mow the lawn and care for the plants around the home.
Your best bet is to keep things minimal so that upkeep and care are simple, and you can get back to focusing on what YOU want to focus on.
That being said, here are some house rules to implement:
House number four numerology dictates a home is a place where goals and dreams happen.
It is easy to make the place become a workshop of sorts where everyone is focused on making their dreams come true.
This means that care must be taken among the family to spend time with one another and spend time meditating and reflecting.
Goals are important, but a home that provides a safe place to relax and be yourself is also important.
