There is no universal truth when it comes to figuring out your destiny, at least to the extent that there is one single perspective. There are multiple perspectives of numerology and astrology, and they are influenced by history and territory. At it's basest definition, numerology refers to a mystical relationship between numbers and physical beings and objects.

Though early divination systems came from the mind of early mathematicians, they are no longer considered mathematically based. From these origins evolved several different types of numerology. Modern numerology today actually incorporates ancient Babylonian teachings, as well as philosophy from Christian mysticism, Gnosticism and Hebrew superstition. It also helps to think of astrology and numerology as having three primary branches: Western, Indian and Eastern/Asian. Specifically, the most well known disciplines of numerology are Chaldean, Kabbalah, Western, Chinese, and Tamil.
Chaldean numerology originated in the ancient civilization of Babylon. This is the oldest form of numerology and actually has more in common with Kabbalah than Eastern teachings. It is know as “mystic numerology”, probably because of it's connection to astrology and Kabbalistic interpretation. The summary of this numerology is that single digit numbers represent a person’s outer personality. Double digits are the person’s inner personality. Instead of using your birth name, you go by the name you are most commonly called. Your birth number, that is, the day of the month in which you were born, is considered. The number 9 is best avoided, as this is a holy number. This is a fairly complex system to learn.
Is also called Pythagorean numerology. This western system is very popular and very easy to get started in. It is developed from a system based on Pythagoras’s teachings, a Greek philosopher. Pythagorean numerology uses a person’s name and date of birth. Numbers 1-9 are used for analysis, while numbers 11 and 22 are known as “master vibrations” and are not reduced. A person’s name is converted into numbers, and from this data, a great deal can be gleaned regarding his/her potential and personality traits.
Evolved from Judaism, a sub-branch of Jewish mysticism. The basic belief is that everything in the world consists of energy, and this energy is the source of all life and power. People possess energy and their names have energy. This discipline is more concerned with names rather than numbers and was compiled using the Hebrew alphabet. Kabbalah analysis involves a birth name, and from that, readings can address a person’s future, interactions, and the “natural cycle of events.” Note that there is also a “New Kabbalah” system, which was created for use with the Roman alphabet.
Kabalah numerology draws the tree of life for calculation and analysis. The tree of life is a graphic portrayal of these universal original forces: Kether, Chokhmah, Binah, Chesed, Geburah, Taphareth, Netzach, Hod, Yesod, Makuth. Three key systems emerge from the Tree of Life analysis.
Both the Chaldean and Kabbalah system follow more or less a common numerical classification and interpretation. Now let us see the meaning of Kabbalah numbers from 1 to 9-
Number 1 - Individuality, egoistic, self reliance, affirmative (Influenced by Sun).
Number 2 - Psychic attraction, emotional, sympathetic, skeptical (Influenced by Moon).
Number 3 - Intellectual capacity, possibility to become rich and successful (Influenced by Jupiter).
Number 4 - Possessing property, materialistic, position in the society (Influenced by Earth).
Number 5 - Reasonable, logical, of good ethics, fond of traveling, commercial (Influenced by Mercury).

Many contemporary numerologists prefer Hebrew system for their analysis. To overcome the problem of interpreting Hebrew alphabet they have converted the alphabets into English. But the entire alphabets do not have the English equivalents and the entire alphabets are arranged in different orders. So it is very difficult to know or study Hebrew Numerology if you are not familiar with the numerology alphabets. The calculation of numerical equivalence of letters in Hebrew is known as Gematria.
The equivalent of Hebrew number system in English may be described as follows.

Dates back to 4,000 years ago and legend suggests it was started by Chinese emperor Wu who saw a tortoise shell with a grid of nine squares. There are three systems to Chinese numerology: Western, Traditional and Ki. This type involves a person’s birth date and a grid of numbers called the Lo Shu Grid. The numbers in the grid are arranged so that when they are added (diagonally, horizontally or vertically) they will equal 15. The number 15 is the range between the new moon day and a full moon day. With this grid, and a person can learn of their personal traits. Each number represents an individual trait. There is no 0 value.
Tamil refers to the Indian state of Tamil Nadu. Indian numerology teaches that every person has three numbers attached to him/her. First, there is the psychic number, which means the way one views himself (calculated using a birth date); the destiny number, which is how one is viewed by the world (calculated by adding the birth date together); and the name number, which reveals one’s relationships with others (requires a math calculation, based on sound frequencies that relate to a particular number). Indian numerology also involves Vedic Squares. like this one, which show numerous geometric patterns and symmetries, some of which can be found in traditional Islamic art.
