Q. I placed an Arowana fish in a small glass bowl in the southeast corner. I soon noticed a jump in my earnings. Unfortunately, the fish died soon after. I got another fish, but that also died. Is it a bad omen?

A. There is no need to worry if the fish dies. It is believed that it is absorbing your bad energy and bad luck. The combination of eight goldfish and one black fish is considered very auspicious. Replace the fish keeping the numbers same. A more dependable alternative with similar results is a painting or a statue of Golden Arowana.

Q. I love reading your column thanks to which I have now started thinking of applying vaastu ways in our house. My husband and I are both doctors. He was doing very well in his career five years back, but since then things have been very slow and he has not received any recognition in his practice. He wants to join a reputed hospital. A.You should clear the clutter from your house first. A clutter-free environment has a positive effect on the people living there. Keep the north, northeast and eastern area of your house clean and light. You can acquire a painting of water fountain (don’t buy water fall) and hang it on the north wall of your drawing or living room. Hang a sunrise painting on the eastern wall. These paintings will improve your husband’s career and reputation in the society.
