The overhead water tank should be in
the west or south-west direction of the building.
If the overhead tank is constructed in the north-east of the
house, it may lead to mental tension and burden..
Due to water, south-west corner becomes heavy
and creates a balance of positive energies in the house/building
and proves advantageous.
The overhead water tank must be at least 60
cm (2 feet) above the uppermost slab and not touching the
slab. There should be no leakage in the overhead tank as dampness
in the south-west corner is not good; therefore, the tank should
placed on a higher slab. One should cover the all inner portion of
the tank with tiles, preferably of white colour,
so as to ensure cleanliness of the tank.
The overhead water tank, as far as possible, should
not be made of plastic. If it is a plastic tank, it
should be of blue or black colour, so that it absorbs the sun's
rays. The sun's rays create positive energy (the principle Vastu
works on) when absorbed in water.
As far as possible there should be separate
tanks for drinking and cooking purposes and still other
for toilets and bathrooms etc.
If a solar geyser is to be
installed, it should be placed above the level of the overhead
tank to ensure proper flow of water, and all the equipments
attached to the same should be installed in the south-east of the
roof.
Useful Tips
* The overhead water
tank should be in the west or the south-west ground floor can
prove beneficial.
* The overhead water
tank in the south-west direction should be at least two feet above
the uppermost slab. It should not be touching the slab. The
sunrays first fall on this tank and are absorbed in water. Due to
water, this corner becomes heavy and it is advantageous. But under
no condition the overhead tank in the south-west corner should
leak. Dampness in the south-west corner is not good, therefore the
tank is placed on a slab higher than the slab of the building.
*The north-east
corner belong to water element still a very big overhead tank is
not proper in this direction because the north-east corner should
not be heavy under any condition.
*Overhead tank
should not be located in the south-east corner. Loss of wealth and
accidents possible. The effects of overhead tank in the south
direction are of medium effect. Even this tank should be two feet
above the slab of the roof and should not leak.
* Leaving the
south-west side, if the tank is built in the west side it is very
beneficial. This is the direction of the Lord Varuna and he is
incharge of the rains. This tank in the west direction can be
built over the slab itself. There is no necessity of leaving a gap
of two feet.
*Overhead tank
should not be in the north-west direction as far as possible. If
it is, it should be small in size, of less height, and situated at
a distance of at least two feet from the north-west corner. The
water in this tank is not used properly and gets finished before
expected.
* Overhead tank
should not be in the middle (Bramhasthan). If there is a load on
the Bramha, life becomes impossible to live. One does not feel
like staying in the house. If the overhead tank at the Bramhasthan
is removed, surprising advantages can be experienced within 21
days.
* The overhead water
tank should not be plastic as for as possible. If it is a plastic
tank it should be of blue or black colour. This leads to
absorption of sunrays. As far as possible, there should be
different tanks for drinking and cooking and for toilets,
bathrooms etc.
