According to Vastu, and existing house should
never be divided in three equal parts, in case of division between
brothers. And they shouldn't build three houses in a single plot
or same compound. There should always be a road or path between
the houses, making separate compound walls for each house.
All the
three buildings should never be in the same compound even if owned
by a single person; however, this doesn't include accessory or
storage buildings within the house like garages. If a single plot
is to be divided among two brothers, the elder one should take the
west portion of the house and the younger one should take the
north or east portion; otherwise the wealth will decrease for both
the brothers. If a brother and sister live in the same house,
regardless of the age, the sister should live in the north or in
the east portion of the house. The houses of two brothers should
never be opposite to each other. In such a case, one of them may
suffer due to lack of children or death of children. If it is
required to build two houses in the same plot without a compound
wall between the houses, the south or west portion must be built
before the construction of north or east portion. And the house in
the east or north portion must be lower than the house in the
south or west portion, and both ground level and elevation level
should be taken into consideration while constructing the same.
